When contemplating the problem of overpopulation, I always use the metaphor of pond scum (insultin, yes, but bear with me). A pond contains algae, which continues to grow until the pond is choked with algae & nothing else will grow in it. That's how I see the state of human overpopulation. We have grown to the point where other wildlife have lost their habitats. That's why we are seeing wildlife such as deer, rabbits, etc., moving into our neighborhoods ... nowhere else to go.

@jjGravitas I don't think it's that we've grown too much, I think it is that we waste far too much. We have created an economic system that is not scalable, not a human system that isn't.
