In the late '70s I discovered Rutland Weekend Television via the vinyl release, Rutland Weekend Songbook. I never saw the actual show, U.S. Educational stations never picked it up like they did Monty Python and Fawlty Towers, & I haven't seen any DVD releases. But there was one skit, The Rutles (the alternate reality Beatles) was shown on Saturday Night Live to great acclaim when Eric Idle hosted it and Neil Innes was guest musician.
