The difference between liberals and conservatives is that liberals are fine with the presence of conservatives, but not their power; while present-day conservatives are not okay with either the power of liberals *or* their presence.

The logic of modern conservatism thereby leads only two places: slavery or genocide.

Perhaps we can expect that choice to be the theme of the next Republican presidential debate.

I'm both.

One aspect of our violent materialism is the inability of people to distinguish the real world from a game. In a game, all that matters is winning. One doesn't think about how what one does affects other people or whether your "win" might not really be worth everyone else losing. In such games, selfishness is rewarded, selflessness punished.

We now have a couple of generations who have grown up to include people who do not really understand the real world or even that it is real.

Yet people like Musk and the Texas GQP want to force us all to listen to the type of rhetoric that radicalized this mass murderer.

Just a reminder that it’s been 493 days since “the worst attack on our Democracy since the Civil War”, and not one single Insurrectionist GQP, or Traitor Trump has been charged with plotting, inciting, and or participating, in the attempted Coup or 1/6, and in that time the Insurrectionist GQP has caused far more damage to this country than they have in all of the last 40 years combined. What good is justice if it comes too late, or not at all?
