People whom you are not going to see in the front lines to defend women's rights against government encroachments:

Right-wing "libertarians," objectivists, and their ilk; people who are only against government power when it threatens the power of corporations or the habits of the wealthy.

Also, supposedly left-wing "curmudgeons" and "first amendment absolutists," who will be busy writing a long article about how this is all Hillary Clinton's fault.

The SCOTUS is supposedly outraged that someone leaked the draft ruling signed by 5 Justices to overturn Roe vs Wade. The question is are they actual mad it was leaked or mad they got caught sitting on it until the midterms?

Don't assume that "This can't really be happening, they won't let this happen, somebody will do something" and then run through a litany of ways in which some weird change could alter the result.

The Supreme Court has a 6-3 right-wing majority. They've already made up their minds and their partisans are high-fiving them for it. No impetus for change is coming from within the court.

The only way "somebody" is going to do something is if that somebody is you and every one of your friends.

@jdlxn @Goddess The whole case from Alito's PoV is that abortion is not mentioned in the US constitution. Well there are a lot of other things not mentioned either - like votes for women, freedom for blacks, gay rights, privacy, contraception, votes for non-white males, the right to unionize, etc. You can bet if the GQP get veto proof majorities in house & senate then the WH in '24 all of the above will be attacked

I was one of the people who got scared in November 2016. One of the ones who was told it won't get that bad, how much damage can for years do? Tonight, I'm still scared but feeling kind of vindicated too.

Guys, vasectomies are minor, minimally invasive, and reversible procedures with no long term side effects.

People with uteruses don’t get pregnant on their own. And it’s a whole helluva lot harder to make them reliably infertile, and it usually involves either harsh drugs or invasive abdominal surgery.

8 years ago, my husband stopped my obgyn from tying my tubes during my 2nd c-section. I have been terrified of accidentally getting pregnant ever since. My daughter is just starting puberty and if these extremists keep getting their way she'll have NO reproductive choices. She'll be a handmaid before she's out of high school. What world have I brought her into? I'm sick & frozen with fear. What do I do?

So, if women have no autonomy over their own bodies, I say we create a national database of EVERY male’s DNA, which can and will be used to determine responsibility for every single child born in America, and as soon as each child is born, the responsible male identified, child support will be awarded the child, and males cries of lack of autonomy over their bodies will be ignored, or better yet, laughed at.
