Confession: Authors like that are why I often read the ends of books first. I wanna know before I go in if my emotional investment in a character will be worth it. 👀

@misterfive Most of my main characters have plot armor, but I have blindsided fans with some secondary deaths. In a realistic world like my Just Cause Universe series, superpowers are dangerous and deadly. Dying with their boots on is the privilege of superheroes, and it's good for fans to know real risk is involved.

As an author I know stakes and danger have to be real. It's as a reader I need to forewarn myself with my emotional investment.
