I have been making wands since 2009. From humble beginnings to having my own shop. And I'm not the only multi-crafter displaying wares here. There's a dozen different makers and artists. For many, it's their first consignment experience. And what I see the most, is me coaxing them that their time and skills are worth more than what they charge. Artists societally undervalue their art. If you're an artist, don't charge less than retail. Don't cheapen it. #Art #Value #Worth #Esteem #Livelihood
@DubleveWands @Myana My wife crafts custom wire-wrapped jewelry. We had a long talk about pricing and not undervaluing the time she puts in, not just in actual wrapping, but time spent becoming an expert. Now I think she charges what her work is worth and people pay for it. It's so awesome to see her being successful that way!
@Myana @DubleveWands When we do shows together, I sell my paperback books (that I wrote) and she sells her jewelry, and I am totally fine with her making 4-5 times what I do. Her niche market is much broader than mine.
