Imagine you spent a dozen years driving a beat-up '83 Chevy with a weak transmission, questionable radiator, and a rat-eaten seat. But in those 12 years, you got really good at it. Then you got a cushy office job and didn't have to drive for like four years. Then the company upgraded its equipment and today they handed you the keys to a helicopter and said "Fly this over there. Thanks."

That was me today, but with forklifts.

@ianthealy Well did you a) kill anyone b) seriously maim anyone c) destroy valuable property or d) make it clear you should not touch said machine for the rest of your life?

If not you probably came out ok

@willsecurity I done did good. It's like falling off a bicycle. Some things you never forget how to do.

@XanHart I spent 12 years driving a forklift with specific operational capabilities and now they have these fancy new high tech lifts with controls I haven't used and had to operate one today for a custom because we're short handed.

I didn't kill anyone or break anything, so that's a win.
