@process Oh lordie, they should come to my area! Gulls divebombing on the roofs of the houses all night long! Crapping all over everything. I mean, I get it, I'm all for conservation, but they certainly aren't becoming rare in these parts!

@homebird Those are almost certainly Herring gulls and Lesser Black-backed gulls.
The unfortunately named Common gull, just isn't! It's much, much smaller and has been out competed by the other, larger species.
It's the Herring and Lesser black-backed gulls that're nicking your chips! 🤣🤣

I do see the occasional Greater black-backed and the Black-headed gulls are reasonably numerous here, but then I *am* in Plymouth!

@stueytheround @process I have lived in Plymouth! I concur! See, if we will insist on living beside the sea!

@homebird @process Think that's just a natural consequence of us humans building all over their natural environment, tbh - they're bound to concentrate in the areas that are most habitable.

Round my way, it's more foxes than gulls, but I see it the same way.
