Morning all! Tesco delivery today, or I would definitely be sleeping in! *yawn*. How is everyone? I was thinking this morning about old sweets we used to eat. What do you remember? Black Jacks? Bazooka Joe bubble gum? Flying saucers? Fireman's laces? Sherbet dabs?

@homebird Morning πŸ™‚ My Nan used to buy me 2oz of Strawberry Bon Bons when she went shopping in town as a treat and my Pap used to give me some of his Extra Strong Mints sometimes. I used to like Fruit Salad and Dolly Mixtures too. I've never liked Licorice and dislike Smarties by am definitely a Milky Bar kid πŸ˜‰ 🀠

@Mandypar Hehe, I loved licorice! Yeah, fruit salads, smarties - all were my thing too. Funnily enough, I was never that enamoured with Milky Bar, but I gave them to my kids! Do you remember Cola cubes and pineapple cubes? Loved those too!

@homebird Yes I remember them. I wasn't keen on either especially the pineapple ones as I really dislike pineapple (just too sweet for me).

@homebird pane con pomodoro. My nonna always had the freshest bread, tomatoes, and olive oil. Also pizza sardenara at La Tavernetta in my childhood. tasteatlas.com/sardenara

@hallmarc Ohhh that sounds divine! I want to try that! ❀️

@homebird do you remember white mice from Woolworth's pick and mix? My mother used to take me shopping and buy me pick and mix. I remember all of those sweets except for the bubblegum one.

@Cynanthrope Oh yes! I loved those little mice! And Woolies pick and mix was such a treat!

@homebird there used to be a retro sweet shop near my old work place and every so often, I'd treat myself to flying saucers, Black Jack's or a sherbet fountain. πŸ’–

@homebird: Slush Puppies and Icees, Bazooka Bubble Gum, Fun Dip, crinkle-cut french fries, tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, school lunch pizza, and giant soft pretzels at the carnival.
