synchronicity:

meaningful order in
seemingly random events.

events are sometimes arranged in definite patterns, and
this arrangement occurs by chance and not by virtue of causal chains of
preceding events.

In other words, there is no causal reason for the pattern to
appear. It comes about purely by chance.

People who try the I Ching are
often surprised by its uncanny accuracy.

How can one explain these meaningful arrangements and patterns that are not created by known causes?

@holon42 I chalk it up to post hoc ergo propter hoc and the brain’s habit of seeking patterns. Your mileage may vary, at least that’s what the Gypsy woman told me would happen. 😁

@CanisPundit

yes, there are many ways of explaining it, some more plausible than others, but the meaningful coincidences do not thereby lose their significance, and,

in the case of the I Ching, the advice is worthwhile regardless. and stopping to consider and allow the unconscious to whisper advice, before acting, is priceless.
