oh yeah, watch your ankles.
i knew someone years ago, whose chihuahua would charge out to chase a large neighbourhood dog away by running underneath him and biting his balls.
they know the soft spots, as do cats.
I like sending these to my sister. π
My sister's name is Karen. Pure coincidence. π
yup i can see it.
they are manipulative and bossy, but so endearing. we can't resist π
I used to live with my sister. We had three dogs, one of which was her chihuahua, Odin.
If one of the other dogs had a toy he wanted, Odin would go ring the bells on the door. (We had a string of bells the dogs could ring to ask to be let out into the yard.)
The other two would run to the door, excited... and Odin would take the toy, then get up on the couch with it.
Absolutely manipulative and clever little shit.

I LOVE a smart dog. You have to be on your toes, but worth it.
I have 2 Shepherds now. They are not smart. They're trainable, but trainable is not the same as "problem solving smart".
The others were mutts, but one was likely a shepherd mix of some sort... Lovely boy, super loyal and loving, but definitely not smart.
@tyghebright @holon42 @LowEndMuse
I think a lot of people confuse trainable with intelligence. Sure, some is needed to be trainable, but it's definitely not the same.
The smartest dogs I've met were a challenge to train.
@tyghebright @holon42 @LowEndMuse
Because the really smart ones are willful and have their own ideas of what constitute "training".
Exactly.
π€£π€£π€£π€£yup, that's them.

Psst... For Homeowners insurance purposes... What was meant was...
... and an American Staffordshire Terrier ...

My dog was a "lab mix". Found out she was only 8% lab. Everything else was on the forbidden list. But, she was "lab presenting".
The one on the right looks GSD, but has less GSD DNA than my "lab mix". GSDs are on the "not good" list. She's abt as much husky as GSD, so I say she's a "husky mix" for insurance.
Humans SUCK as judging breed simply based on looks.
I don't think many can figure out the rest of the DNA in my black "lab" based only on looks.
There is a full blood German Shepard across the street from me. He got out one day, and the owner told me to
"be careful" right before the dog flipped over in front of me begging for belly rubs. π
Sweetest.
Dog.
Ever. π―

That's the case with most big dogs! π
they look like total sweetheartsπ©·
My Mandy (black lab) was the BEST. My soul mate. Crazy smart. Perfect. The other, Silver, she's a hot mess. π Sweet if she knows you. Her bark has 2 volumes - off & on (on=full-sized GSD). She sheds more than any GSD or Husky alone. It's horrendous. Anxiety from abuse (prior to us) & those GSD/Husky genes. Picky eater. IBS (GSD issue). Does not sing the song of her people, thank the old gods. Had no idea how to dog until we got the Aussie Shepherd, who is now her emotional support dog.
This one is actually very sweet and gentle. Snuggly. She definitely thought she could roll with the big dogs though. π

We have 4 Chihuahuas and a Pit Bull Terrier. The smallest Chihuahua runs the show. ππ―
