This day marks a sad time for me and maybe most of us. It was tough to be out that day, and tougher for those who lost loved ones and for the millions around the globe murdered in its deranged aftermath.

@matuzalem Living so close to NYC there was not a single person I met that did not have a connection to someone lost on this day. So many lives destroyed.
When I got to work the first plane had hit so we closed the office. On my way home all I could see was the smoke from the towers.
One of my employees hadn’t heard from her husband who was going to one World Trade. He ended up being OK because his train was late.

@TomB @matuzalem I was up late that night in Palo Alto and I called a friend from college around 7:45 EDT. We chatted until about 8:15 when she said she had to go to work. Later that day she called me crying and said I might have saved her life because she would normally have been inside the WTC south tower by around 8:40a. To this day I don't know why I decided to call her since we hadn't been in touch much over the previous 8 years. The universe is brutal and brilliant all at once.

@hallmarc @matuzalem There is a bit of karma in that. A beautiful story to balance the horrible ones...thank you for sharing...
