@northernbassist I never quite understood the development of "consumer" technology beyond the human ability to benefit from it. What could they possibly put in these speakers to separate them from speakers that are $10K and that even the most discerning audiophile could not distinguish?
I think there's a personal sauna in those large cabinets too

a friend, our guitar player, named Laird MacMillan, was buying scotches from some pretty exclusive Scottish sources with labels printed in pencil... when put in the casks, what type of cask, how long, etc etc...I don't even know what details would be important. I was never a drinker and never even asked to try it. I think it might have been on the spendy side.
@northernbassist they wouldn't build it if they didn't think they had a market. For a billionaire, these are like buying a pair of Beats...

'because we can' has a big part in it. materials, construction, design...as to whether or not they're worth the expense is up to the consumer. there are so many variables in design and performance.
