Color me surprised: we might actually get a two-party contest for governor in November. I didn't think Republican Dave Reichert had a chance, shows what I know.
I'm glad (I think), because a moderate Democrat would be harder for Bob Ferguson to beat (I think). Also because the moderate Dem that Ferguson might face is, IMHO, just a Libertarian masquerading as a Dem. Also, if a not-so-MAGA Repub wins in the primary, maybe the WA GOP will get a clue. (*Maybe.*)

@ImagineThat I think there may actually be a good chance of the Republican winning the governorship but it depends a lot on how Harris is doing In the run-up to election. You are all mail-in ballots right? If WA Republicans see there won't be a second Trump term, they'll be relieved they won't have to bend the knee anymore.

@hallmarc Yes, WA is all vote by mail or drop box. Paper ballots, top-two primaries -- I half expected the primary to result in two Dems duking it out for governor, shows how little I know.
That's interesting math for the WAGAts. They've never had a prayer of delivering WA for Trump, but they might, maybe, vote in a GOP governor, *if* they can bring themselves to vote for a guy who didn't kiss Donold's ring. But that's a big "if", so they'll probably just whine and make vain threats.
