@singlemaltgirl my high school buddy and I would go on school sponsored ski trips sometimes. We would play this game of falling in front of pretty girls to gain their sympathy. On one trip, we got to the top of the lift and had identified "targets of opportunity". After the first run, my friend said it was too icy to be effective. I said nonsense and proceeded to follow a girl. Just as I was ready to make my move, I really lost control and crashed right in front of her. /1
EPILOGUE: At first my friend was on the other side of the slope thinking "this guy is the best actor I've ever seen." He slowly realized that this was not a performance and came over to help me out. More importantly, he got Mandy's digits for me!
@singlemaltgirl my pole planted in the ground and my face planted into the pole. I lay on the ground with the crimson blood drops making a pattern on the white snow. Then I heard the sweetest voice say "oh my gosh, are you OK?" The girl, Mandy, rode down with me with the ski patrol (on a sled with my head immobilized) and stayed with me while they looked at my nose. I was OK with no concussion but to this day I don't know if I broke it and the black eye it left was monumental. /2
