Here’s how much Democrats get paid to shill for fossil fuels
Two former Democratic lawmakers made six-figure salaries for falsely promoting methane gas as a climate solution, tax documents seen by HEATED show.
In January 2022, only a few years after leaving the elected seat she held for six years, former Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota got a new job: convincing climate-concerned liberals to love the fossil fuel industry.
@NorthernInvader I mean, it's actually more understandable (but not supportable) when they're from a red state and they need to get reelected every 2 or 6 years. But she only served one term and then did this after a couple years so she has no great excuse. She also did this in her reelection campaign: In October 2018, Heitkamp apologized after her campaign ran a newspaper advertisement that "included names of victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or rape without their permission."
@hallmarc If so they shouldn't even talk about it. We are in a climate emergency - the 6th great extinction event is well under way and the last thing we need is for supposedly progressive politicians lying about ways to prevent it - there is no excuse or forgiveness for lying about it or other major disasters like COVID.
