@Charles_Hawtrey no doubt this would help but there are already 400M+ guns out there and plenty of loopholes. I think buybacks would help; federal red flag laws; manufacturer liability; ammo taxation (on the level of tobacco or greater); free or very low cost preventive healthcare for all (mental in particular); pulverizing the NRA via large numbers of court challenges; government funding of research into gun violence from a public health crisis lens; and much more.

@hallmarc I traded my walking stick in for a six foot Bostaff for self defense. My wife asked what I would do if someone pulled a gun on me. I said, break his damn arm. 🤠
@hallmarc I got a novel idea, how about much stricter gun control laws and an assault weapon ban?
