He, if anything should be referred to as âex-presidentâ. The use of âformerâ is for people who served in their positions with integrity, honor and respect of their oath and role. Much like our military personnel who served this country as such. Example: Former Marine, Former Army Sergeant, Former Navy Seal and so on. Youâd never call respected military service members âex-â, always former.
