Fuck the UN cybercrime treaty. With a rake. Aggressively.
It's not about cybercrime, it's about expanding spying on innocent people, forcing rights-respecting countries to help totalitarian regimes catch people who say/read things they don't like, & a whole host of other evil bullshit.
The infringements on civil rights are written as mandatory parts of the treaty. Human rights protections? Oh, those are optional; no one'll implement them.
Write your representatives.
I just found the Olympics site on NBC, and it looks like you can watch any/all events, either live or on replay. Isn't that nice.
I have been doing a deep dive on #Project2025 so that you don't have to. Not the surface stuff everyone is reporting on, but the deep in the weeds stuff, by government agency. This is my second posting of six.
Covers State, the Intelligence Community, the U.S. Agency for Global Media & The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the Agency for International Development, and the Department of Agriculture.

The Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) is before the Senate. On its face an effort to protect children by making the internet a safer place for them, here the Heritage Foundation tells us directly how they plan to misappropriate it into a weapon against LGBTQ+ content. #politics
Can't find the post that originally led me to this, but my god, so good. So absolutely the inside of my head this week.

Like the majority of you, I gave up arguing with MAGA in 2016.
I hardly think of them.
It sounds macabre, but here in 2024 I see them as ghosts. Menacing? Yes.
But they’re filled with defeat. They’re the Ideologically Dead and like misery, want company.
They’re small and they hate it. Like schools of frightened fish, they appear bigger swimming together with a mob of like-minded rotted souls.
VP Harris’ laughter shrinks their presence.
Where is the fear in her laughing-out-loud?
Well sure, who wants to go over all the sordid details of trumps sexual history... again. And yes, a woman who's had no children of her own shouldn't make decisions about your kids. That's best left to a misogynist felon who gazes uncomfortably at his daughter, has a history of hookers and multiple divorces.

Calling it. 😉
IMO, Senator Mark Kelly will be the VP.
• good luck calling the Dems weak on crime to the son of cops
• good luck telling the Senator from a S.W. border state that Democrats don’t know shit about immigration
• good luck arguing banning abortion to a man with 2 adult daughters
• good luck calling an astronaut stupid 😂
• best of luck denigrating the Navy Pilot who flew 39 combat missions in the Gulf War & retired as Captain in 2011 to devote his life fully to his wife.
How about, you go fuck off?

Mega donors are still trying to pull the strings. Here’s one of the mega donors who paid to remove Biden. He admits the problem wasn’t Biden’s age, he was just too leftwing for Mark. He’s threatening not to donate (or even vote) if the VP doesn’t abandon Biden’s policies.
The title of this NY Times piece really bugs me for the following reason:
The subtext of its wording is that when tfg brutalizes and abuses Kamala Harris with anti-woman insults, she will have brought that out of him.
SHE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR AND ABUSE.
It reminds me of that famous cartoon about domestic violence with a violent bully standing over his brutalized terrified wife saying:
"See what you made me do?"
This is an invite to all women and our allies: join us tonight (Tue 7/23) at 7:30PM ET for a mass call to harness the collective power of our multiracial feminist movement and bring this win home.
