Highway Pass on the Park Rd in Denali National Park - Alaska

A few years ago I was able to spend a lot of time hiking the one road that runs through the park. The day I took this picture I walked 10 miles and shared the area with Caribou, Dall Sheep, Red Fox and Grizzly Bears. I'm thinking it's time to return.

Just watched the 2003 movie, The Snow Walker.
With my daughter living on the tundra in remote Alaska. I am always drawn to it. It's a survival story. Near the end of the movie the pilot wakes to find the woman gone. He follows her tracks in the snow to an owl. There is an old First Nation belief if you hear an owl call your name you will soon die.
The night my wife passed, after everyone I had called left, I went outside to sit. It was around 3:30am. An owl landed nearby and started hooting.

Dryad's Saddle. I've been told they are edible but since I don't care for eating mushrooms I am happy to be able to photograph them.
