He's not everyone's cup of tea, but Austrian Impressionist painter Egon Schiele (1890-1918), a master of expressive lines and contours, has always been a favourite of mine, primarily because of those lines and the moody palette that accompanies them. I especially love his land and cityscapes.

i'm a little late to the party so i'm going to have to play catch up.

i'm a fan of vermeer's painting of light. he did it extraordinarily well and unlike so many of the other painters of his day.

much of his work was attributed to other artists until his 'rediscovery' about 200 yrs after his death.
