@gemswinc Good morning Cindy. Humor and martinis are well served dry. Autumn days? not so much.

Day 11 Paul Gaugin

A great artist surely, and a favorite, though running off to Tahiti to live with nubile young girls, and leaving a wife and 5 children behind, is not exactly noble. He's best known for his work in Tahiti, read his book "Noa Noa"

Self Portrait, Day of the Gods, Where do we come from? What are we? Where are we going?

One action we can take to reduce our impact on the climate is to stop producing and eating beef.

Scroll down in this article to see the table and charts. Very informative.

I gave up beef & pork years ago. I still eat dairy (mainly yogurt and milk) but as you'll see, dairy production is far less damaging to the environment than beef production.

2. Thomas Nast

From the Bill of Rights Institute:

"Tweed feared Nast’s cartoons to a much greater extent than newspaper articles, because many of his constituents were illiterate, and he even offered Nast a bribe to stop these public criticisms. Tweed was right to fear this criticism because Nast’s cartoons helped lead to his downfall and arrest in 1876. Tweed died in jail in 1878, and Nast continued to draw for Harper’s Weekly until 1886."

Absolute legend. No notes.
