How could we so badly fail a test, with eight years to study?

@gemswinc What you mean "we"?

Trump got less than half the votes cast. Harris received nearly as many as Trump.

The main difference between now and four years ago appears to be that marginal voters Democrats were relying on just stayed home.

Blame them. The deplorables got what they wanted. Those that voted for Harris did the right thing.

The sliver who couldn't be bothered, or who were disuaded from voting by heavy negative campaigning largely financed by billionaires' PACs, did it.

@gemswinc Nor does blaming "we." That's my point.

We know what happened, and it occurred at the margins. If we're looking for a cause, look to oligarchs like Elon Musk who financed the voter suppression campaign and who stand to profit enormously from the results.

@Coctaanatis *We* are all Americans. Can we tease out folks to blame, sure. Have at it

@gemswinc But people vote as individuals. Blaming "Americans" ignores the role of the over half of those who voted who didn't vote for Trump. There's no "we" there, except that we're all stuck with the result, whether or not "we" voted for Trump.

@Coctaanatis Setting us against eachother is the R way, not my way. I do not ignore the demons in our midst. Do not mistake me
