13/20 Final guilty, embarrassing pleasure. I watched Y&R for almost its entire 50yrs. Taking a break, currently.

@gemswinc

I stopped watching circa 1987 when I moved out of my parents' house, but yeah, I sat down to watch it with my mother whenever I could! I loved Drucilla Winters. 😁

@LiseL So did I. She is long gone. I got caught on my lunch break, in my 20s

@gemswinc

Once you're in, you're in! We're hardwired for serial storytelling.

@LiseL
I believe this is the reason so many streaming channels have begun serial show in lieu of only movies.
If it's good enough, you keep 'em coming back.
@gemswinc

@Maude @LiseL I much prefer series to movies. If you are involved it's great to know there is another episode coming, or waiting

@gemswinc @Maude

I hate when series *end* though. You invest so much time in them that the characters start to feel real, like you know them, like you've always known them. Then one day it's all over in a hour's finale. 😭 πŸ˜‚

@LiseL
I knowwwwww

I felt that way with Deadwood.
I KNEW the characters.
@gemswinc

@Maude @LiseL Exactly. Sometimes I'd dream about Y&R characters

@gemswinc @Maude

I hope you didn't get nightmares about Sheila Carter! 😬

@gemswinc @LiseL

Yes, however, when it's bad... it's bad. Can't remove it fast enough from my "continue watching" list.

@Maude Doesn't take me long to drop out either. I know pretty quickly @LiseL
