Looking forward to the arrival of an early birthday gift to myself. First project, a basic lap loom made from a recycled wood picture frame, is ready to happen. Been fighting impatience; at only 8mm apart, hammering brads into the frame would likely split the wood. Why manual drilling? Focus, plain and simple.

A couple more plots harvested with the bounty from their labors. One from a gentleman who never in his life had the opportunity to have his own garden. He is so proud! The other from a young single mother on her own for the first time struggling to keep food on her table. She and her young one have a few fresh vegetables to enjoy. Both of these folks have sought to keep on keeping on. 💜

Time to scoot along. A few more hours at the Community Garden should do the trick at this point in their growing season.
The success of their plots this year is so gratifying to witness. Food insecurity nipped in the bud, one plot at a time. These folks are so proud of their gardens. For me, seeing them able to feed their families is just the best gift.

I have a good source that Traffic light supply is about 10 months behind.
For anyone who's wondering. Also, it took *months* to get a traffic light fixed on the courthouse square.
A needed rain band is approaching. Great, except that early this morning a major intersection in Mt. Home was forced into becoming a 4-way stop until further notice.
Heaven knows there's too many in the Twin Lakes area whose driving skills suck even in good conditions. And this on the last day of the Baxter County Fair, to boot. Good luck, dear townies! #ARwx #TheOzarks
