Capitalism BT its very definition is about money. A business is rarely created to NOT make money.
As a venture capitalist once told me, 9 out of 10 companies he invests in fail or break even. This is one of the failures.
Plants do sequester carbon (as well as heavy metals), which is a good thing. It seems to me (without knowing details) they’re doing it wrong.
Capitalism is the single biggest factor in creating this disaster as it is based on ever growing consumerism. The 1%'s wealth gives them the means for controlling politics and media.
The 1% aren’t just the biggest climate wreckers, they also greatly influence how the world responds to the crisis

Finland's forests are starting to die.
What happens to the world if forests stop absorbing carbon.
@YouInMyEye That's awesome who are they?

ENVIRONMENTALLY RESIGNED - A Parody | Don Caron
@feloneouscat The ecosphere is dying - it's dying because the corporations and systems that are responsible have refused to take the necessary actions and have delayed any serious attempts to solve the problem. Yes plants absorb CO2 but that is slowing down.

Trees and land absorbed almost no CO2 last year. Is nature’s carbon sink failing?
The sudden collapse of carbon sinks was not factored into climate models ...
