Okay bear with me, but I had a horrible thought. It would be a great story (collusion, election year and Supreme Court).
A very powerful group of men hate the current conservative candidate. So they assure that he is prosecuted (doesn’t matter what). They then assure that his VP is someone who is malleable but is willing to work with them.
What happens next is important:
1. SCOTUS hears a case whether a President can be held responsible for what he has done in office. They say nope.

2. The conservative candidate wins.
3. They VP and the Cabinet (all in collusion) declare the President is incapable of executing his duties using the 25th.
4. Now comes the part that SCOTUS said was legal: The former Prez says, “Nope, I’m capable” in a letter to Speakers but Current Prez says Bigger Nope, get out you bum relying on SCOTUS ruling (it IS within the purview of executive powers AND the 25th vague).
5. Win for Conservatives, the Rich and the former VP goes to prison.

I hope your plot twist is right. If Trump supporters get it in their head that Vance has (or is planning) a "coup" not only will they never vote for him, they'll be howling for his neck in a noose. Because in all things, Trump is right and anyone who turns on him is a deep state traitor. Maybe it's time to go undercover and voice those concerns to the faithful? 😄

It’s an interesting twist but trump’s toasted! They’re hiding him (and medicating) to keep him away from the public as much as possible until Election Day. My plot twist is the SECRET SERVICE agents that he’s been so insistent to have them everywhere he goes will report he’s mentally compomised and can’t be elected. trump is immediatele removed to go complete his court sentencing. Vance is pushed up with a stand in for a VP… but they lose by a landslide.
