“The Grubhub meal perk is meant to support Meta employees at locations where free meals aren't provided by a cafeteria, or when employees work into the evening. Those who violated the policy used the $25 credit to order other items, including laundry detergent… Not everyone who misused the perk was fired, the person said — only those who had demonstrated a pattern of abusing it.”

So? Am I missing something?

So people are using it as a $6500 bonus. And?

@feloneouscat i have grubhub taken care of by amazon. the only time im using it is when there is a food need, and im lacking in interesting stuff at my house.

@Horrrflmlvr

I guess I missing why using it for something other than lunch can get one fired.

That just seems petty and vindictive.

@feloneouscat yes, but for anyone who has to use it, why do they need to be raising a stink.
Have the ones who are in more money have had to scrimp and save, while trying to find new things to help out in different situations?

@Horrrflmlvr

I just get “modern” business. Just give people $25 bucks per diem. For lunch, bills, whatever. Don’t DEMAND they use the perk the way you want.

Business seems to want to control every facet of people’s lives. That’s just nosy.

Or, you know, give people raises and cost of living increases. Businesses in America are just fucking stingy. The idea that people who do work DON’T deserve cost of living raises is just morally repugnant.

Hell, it should be a federal law.

@feloneouscat have such millionaires ever had to deal as struggling parents with bills,and sick children when they are barely making ends meet?

@feloneouscat @Horrrflmlvr Because it’s a substitute for a free on-premises cafeteria. Which is designed to keep you onsite and working longer hours. If you are using it for laundry detergent how’s that gonna translate into extra hours? I suppose if you were going to leave early to go to the store on the way home?

@Boyceaz @feloneouscat have you ever heard of trying to reuse outfits if they are not dirty ?
