This is by “sandboxing” an app. Doing so makes it very difficult to affect other apps or the OS itself.
It’s not impossible, but the hoops you have to jump through are many.
@feloneouscat I can understand the benefits of allowing browser notifications, but it's way too easy to abuse. I still get calls from clients freaked out about the 'virus' on their computers. I tell them to do a full power shutdown and restart. When that's done, I connect remotely and run malware scans. They turn up clean like 99 percent of the time, not like the XP days.
