Chevy Blazer. Haggled (ugh) them down to over $10K below MSRP.
We were there for over three hours. It was stressful. Me and partner HATE haggling.
GM’s consoles are a mess. Wish it was CarPlay. The guy we dealt with was a total disaster. Kept talking about golf carts (neither of us golf). I’m guessing he did?
We were asked via text what our price point was. We told them and they pushed it back up by 8K. They did a performance about calling GM, manager, etc.
What a farce

Personally, I don’t get it. We could take a three-four hour ordeal and turn it into a simple 30 minute transaction.
We seem to treat car sales as if we were a developing nation.
Tends to make me think of the “haggling” bit in one of the Python films.
@feloneouscat Yeah, I agree. I've bought 3 cars new. The first in person with/for Wife and after that BS, 2 online with all the particulars sorted in writing beforehand through the fleet/internet sales manager.

@feloneouscat Dad really enjoyed the negotiation dynamic (like you, I do NOT). One instance while buying a car, he gave the sales guy 2 back-and-forths and then just got up and left him sputtering. Sales guy came running shouting "Wait! Wait!" and caught up to us just as we were getting into the car to leave. Dad gave him a look and said "Are you done dicking around and ready to make $500 on this car?" He got the deal he wanted. Dad was a piece of work (Gramps, too)!
