Big Pharma, even in Denmark, sucks.
Norvo Nordisc, the Danish maker of Ozempic, is under pressure when it was discovered the actual cost of the drug is about $5.00 per month and they charge $1,000 per month here in the U.S.
I will allow for the labor that was required to create the drug to be reflected in the price TO A REASONABLE DEGREE (and amortized over the period the drug is under patent). The cost of inputs does encompass the design process.
But, obviously, 200x is gross. UNRESTRAINED capitalism would happily kill off 80% of its own market to get filthy rich off the remaining 20%.
Ozempic sells for $153.00 per month in most European countries. I donโt think charging US citizens $1,000 a month is all about advertising. Norvo Nordisc is raking in the bucks.

๐ฏ My point, exactly. 20x actual manufacturing costs should, by any measure, adequately compensate for the R&D of it and it's failed siblings along the way. 200x is outrageous.
