We made this for lunch. Super-easy and tasty. We used gorgonzola because the store didn’t have stilton at the moment, which is ironic given that the recipe comes from a Stilton vendor’s site. https://1912.co.uk/recipes/baked-butternut-squash-orzo-pasta-with-creamy-1912-stilton/
@estherschindler Real Stilton- real honest English Stilton mind you- was one of the best things I tried in the UK.
Better than the Cornish pasties, but those were from Salisbury so who knows 😁
@aspecurian
The very best Cornish pasties are *not for sale*! They're made once a week by Cornish grandmas, for family and close friends *only*.
You're right about real English Stilton though. It's special.
@stueytheround @estherschindler This rings true- after all the best bitter is the stuff brewed in nearly 800-year-old pubs with no name, no marketing, and no slogan other than "The usual?"
And I know for a fact that you can get better cookies (biscuits!) from a home kitchen and some solid ingredients than you can get in the crunchiest high-price grocery stores. Mostly also crafted by Grandma's.
@stueytheround @estherschindler I have a few different meatloaf recipes, as befits a Midwestern cook.
Still have yet to try a pasty loaf but I imagine it would be pretty good. Might need to pre-cook the turnips and carrots a bit.
@estherschindler Sounds delicious.
