Facebook announced a batch of changes in how it organizes your News Feed today, and their organizing principle seems to be: Maybe we should ask people what they want to see?

@mcfate Like so many other forms of social media, you can control what you see on Facebook -- or at least who you see there.
Nearly all of my experiences are positive ones. It's how I stay connected with people I love. I am still connected with some people whose opinions I disagree with, both respectfully and otherwise (I grit my teeth). But social media is radio. Tune into the the stations that play the music you like.
That would be fine if, regardless of the station you tuned into, your radio wasn't busily subverting society behind your back, spreading disinformation and spawning division.
@mcfate I understand that sentiment. I'm not happy with the company and its practices either.
But it's like a bar where all my friends gather. Where else will I see them?
Which reminds me of a Yogi Berra quote about a restaurant: "Nobody goes there anymore. It's too popular."
If I had to go to a Nazi beer hall to meet my friends, I'd either find a different place or find different friends.
Luckily, this sort of thing isn't a vast concern to me.
Also, one other point of that quote is that, if you're hoping to run into Yogi Berra, you won't be doing it at that restaurant.
@estherschindler
I don't want to see Facebook, though.
