E.g. changing a typewriter ribbon, changing the oil in your car.

Shorthand. I recently came across two pages written by my mom. I could only read a portion of it. What once was speed writing revered by many no longer exists.

My whole career....
Hand color separation, for the 4 color printing process. Then color correction on film, using chemicals.
Union gig, for 16 years, now completely gone.
I mean completely, there is probably less than 1,000 people left that know how to do this.
