Well, shit. Kiddo had a death at the very start of the school year, now his best friendβs dad is going to the hospital with no expectation of returning.
Only diagnosed with cancer 6 weeks ago. Got βa month leftβ a little over a week ago. #FuckCancer
Please remember if you are posting about something that makes news anchors come close to tears or anyone in a news story cry, click on the "CW" at the bottom of your post window & try to describe the topic of your post without using triggering words (e.g., "TX, USA, tragedy 10:43 a.m., 24 May 2022"). Thank you. #CoSoTips #CoSoEtiquette
Well, dodged an absolute bullet.
Had an all-company gathering last week (after 2 years of 100% remote.) They flew in all North-America-based employees. Had us all COVID test before first day, but didn't actually verify. Have at least one anti-vax guy that was there.
Saturday email: "one confirmed case of COVID-19 reported after our meetup. Not clear if contacted during or after."
Tested Sat + 2x Sun. All β.
Just got confirmation someone *ON MY TEAM* is positive.
Just tested again. Still β.

I saw an ad comparing what's coming to The Handmaid's Tale scene where the women get pulled over, asked if they're "trying to leave the district", then "are you pregnant?"
I see people saying "it won't come to that!"
Yet Republicans in multiple states have passed laws *EXACTLY* like that for people seeking treatment for transgender teens.
You bet your ass they'll do it for abortion, too.
Missouri and Texas lawmakers have *ALREADY* passed or proposed such laws.
Okay, salesguy... When you schedule me for 5 hours of back-to-back client meetings with zero downtime mixed in, not even a lunch, you don't get to call an impromptu internal meeting 30 minutes before the 5-hour block, and keep me occupied on that for the full 30 minutes.
When I tell you 7 minutes before the 5 hour block starts "I need to go use the facilities before this next meeting" - *I'M DROPPING*, don't try to keep me on the call. *ESPECIALLY* when you tell me you're skipping the call.
@Nash - Just wanted to check in on you, make sure everything's okay. You need anything?
