@john_b pesky cloudflare 😆
I've been using a PWA for CoSo on my Chromebook for years and on smartphones they've always work perfectly for me
This pixel is only device I've has issues with PWAs for sites not just CoSo - that said its minor issues tbh can still use the PWAs - more an annoyance 😆 cause I know *things* ain't perfect
@john_b its same with BlueSky, and a few others, on pixel PWA site settings show on other devices they don't
@john_b yeah I get that
Although I have set up same PWAs on different devices - CoSo I have set on pixel and other devices using same version of chrome and pixel is different from other device - other devices overlay search works in CoSo and the site settings aren't on show like the pixel PWA
And the highlighting of words, phrases in posts doesn't show the google search overlay at bottom on pixel
As seen in this screenshot
https://counter.social/@ecksmc/112235976427798231
So annoying
Idk but PWAs on a pixel just suck
Well, on my pixel anyway they do
Only set a few up earlier this week and they absolutely suck - on my other devices they work as should be -on pixel they don't really work like individual apps, PWAs should get ride of browsed junk - like address bar etc which happens on my other devices OK pixel I'm left with 'site settings' at top(screenshot)that countersocial at top shouldn't be there
@SuperDuke you can opt-out via settings > privacy & safety > Grok << toggle off
Will stop your posts being uses in AI training etc..... In theory anyway
Also make your account private also stops any new posts being used
@stueytheround hahahaha bazinga
As soon as I saw the PIC I saw John.C jumping around 😆
@gshevlin @Priestess not used it for number of years myself - used to work okay
Mastodon.world - thought mastodon.social, and mstdn.social, had the largest active users and second largest << used to be again though been a few years since I checked stats for over there
i do mind though Mastodon's largest instance, mastodon.social, needed capacity upgrades to handle new load a while back
Here's another "tool" I also used before
@stueytheround a fish called 😆
@gshevlin @Priestess I've used this before gives you list of all instances with user count and status count
/nosanitize
https://instances.social/list#lang=en&allowed=&prohibited=&min-users=&max-users=
That's a list of all English language instances
You can tweak it as you see fit
Tech Life created a fake podcast using a new AI tool from Google Labs, and we spoke to the head of the tool, Steven Johnson. Don’t worry – this programme is still brought to you by real human beings!
We also look into how deepfakes have been used in the US. Plus – have we unveiled the real inventor of Bitcoin? (Spoiler – no.)
Mastodon is the biggest culprit of multiple usernames exact same spelling - albeit each one on different servers/instances - loadsa impersonates
Musk helped get Trump elected so musk could get government contracts
Musk did not buy twitter so he could get Trump elected
Its that simple - Musk knew he needed trump in the white house and even more he knew he needed JD Vance in the white house beside trump to secure the contracts
He was desperate after losing so much on twitter as is - he needed they contracts to be extended and get new contracts
@grrlscientist Saudi billionaire helped him purchase twitter that CNBC article only says musk spoke with Putin, and Kremlin, during the takeover of twitter - it doesn't say any Russians helped with actually purchasing it
Where as there is plenty proof that Saudi's helped financially
Musk’s major shareholders at Twitter include a Saudi prince and the crypto exchange Binance
No mention of Russians
In 1979, during the Iranian hostage crisis, six American diplomats escaped the overrun US Embassy and hid in the Canadian embassy for 85 days. CIA agent Tony Mendez orchestrated their rescue by posing as a Hollywood film crew, successfully exfiltrating them from Iran amidst heightened tensions and meticulous planning. These incredible events inspired the movie 'Argo'.
