Already several others have popped up

Its Whack-a-mole

And there are also private groups as well as public

Telegram is where they organize

The group also includes calls to murder ethnic minorities, anti-fascists and government ministers.

13.000 members in on group chat

Kinda makes me think about what happened in Glasgow over the years because of knife violence & Glasgow being a death capital - community groups were set up to mediate - as well as setting up violence reduction unit run mainly by volunteers inside hospitals - treating it as a health issue more worked

Usually clearing play store app cache helps

VPNs offer a APK file download from their site I'd just download from there that'll update the app on play store also for future alerts

@b4cks4w I don't know about the disguise, discrete, part

Changing the icon might hide the app in app drawer but when you have a VPN on it clearly shows in the shade menus beside WiFi icon as a wee key icon

So, not really being discrete in the fact you are using a VPN is it 😆 personally i don't see the point in hiding the original app icon - if someone gets a hold of your device, gov official, and its unlocked they can go into settings and VPN and see you have been using a VPN anyway

However Ofcom, the regulator tasked with enforcing the law, is unable to take action against social media firms for harmful posts inciting the ongoing riots, as not all the powers from the act have come into force yet.

Ofcom has said it is moving quickly to implement the act so that it can be enforced as soon as possible.

The U.K. government hit back at Elon Musk after the billionaire made controversial comments about riots - On Sunday, Musk replied to a post about the riots on X, the social media platform he owns, stating: “Civil war is inevitable.”

12 additional countries—Afghanistan, Bahrain, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Yemen. These countries, which already enforce some level of internet censorship, are likely to increase censorship efforts if tension continue to escalate in the Middle East

Proton notes VPN signups have grown 4,000% in Venezuela and 3,500% in Bangladesh Due to the former's "deeply flawed" election and the latter's violent response to student-led protests

Interestingly, the Proton VPN Android app can now be disguised as a weather, notes, or calculator app. This may help users stay discreet while using Proton VPN in public.

Meanwhile:

Proton VPN's anti-censorship Stealth protocol finally works on Windows. Proton VPN is also expanding its free service to 12 more countries and introducing an icon-customization feature for Android.

Proton VPN's Stealth protocol is designed to protect users who face internet censorship. It disguises VPN traffic as "normal" internet traffic, thereby preventing governments from identifying citizens who bypass censorship
