I'm looking at a list of "Famous Hackers:"

- Kevin Mitnick (RIP)
- Adrian Lamo (RIP)
- Albert Gonzalez
- Edward Snowden
- Julian Assange

Do you see what's wrong with this list?

@kel

Their OPSEC is/was shit. Their egos were/are huge. And they all got caught. That's why we know their names and not just their handles. 👍

@th3j35t3r 100%.

I'd be very curious to hear who you'd list instead. You know, for teaching HS students about the topic.

@th3j35t3r It's probably good to include a few of the ones who did get caught, you know, for context.

Mitnick definitely belongs, imo.

Gary McKinnon - Scottish systems administrator and hacker who was accused in 2002 of perpetrating the "biggest military computer hack of all time", although McKinnon himself states that he was merely looking for evidence of free energy suppression and a cover-up of UFO activity

😆

97 United States military and NASA computers over a 13-month period he hacked into - pretty badass

@kel @th3j35t3r

Fun fact

McKinnon also posted a notice on the military's website: "Your security is crap".
