Where to start With ‘Doctor Who’?
@cornered you either go all out and start old skool from the very 1st episode aired in Nov 1963 to DEC 1963 - series started by "An Unearthly Child"
Or you start when Eccleston took over
There are only two starting points - that said if you miss all the episodes from the old skool era you'll miss a heck of a lot once Moffat took over and began his reign in writing the episodes because Moffat ties the old skool era with the new era

@cornered Also sidenote you must also read the many comics/books and stuff from big finish as they are just as good at bring stories to a final conclusion within the whoniverse
I'm gonna guess the new series, or season 1 ggggrrrr at Disney, will be same as when the reboot happened - it won't actually matter if you know past who episodes/series - there will be 3 new starting points
I like Davis as a writer but he tends to not look back and link episodes as much as Moffat did
@ecksmc yeah I liked they crossed over and the Doctor with Star Trek in the comics.
