Showing up with Gboard version 13.4, currently in beta on Android, the “Proofread” option appears in the keyboard’s toolbar as a way to have your text checked for spelling or grammar errors on the fly, all powered by generative AI.

i'm trying Simple Keyboard

Features:
Small size (<1MB)

Feature it doesn't have and probably will never have:
Emojis
GIFs
Spell checker
Swipe typing

github.com/rkkr/simple-keyboar

switching from one keyboard to another via the wee icon bottom right when any is keyboard is open is handy can have multiple keyboards installed for testing and finding the right one for you

i don't want a keyboard with AI

another one to consider

Also in the pipeline for generative AI in Gboard is a new feature that creates stickers using AI, as well as a new “tone” feature that can help you reword a message with a different tone, such as formal and informal.

right now it's opt-in but i'd hazard a guess it'll become a feature with no opt-in/out option
