Chuck Todd is a stain on journalism, as usual.

#Trump is barely any younger than Biden, and far less fit physically and mentally. Biden has no role in handling the Hunter investigation, which is solely controlled by a Trump appointee.

But Todd wants what he always wants: the R narrative.

He bewailed Trump as an existential threat to journalism and the country, calling him a "nightmare." But hey, getting him back means more eyeballs, right?

Several things happened at the same time:

2 fires on other side of the island (Kula - where Oprah’s home is, & Kihei) took fire fighters attention/resources.

High winds that took down the power line that started the Lahaina fire also took down power and cell service so almost no communications.

Drought conditions & high winds caused super fast heat and spread… some saying Lahaina town up in flames in less than 20 minutes. There was only a tiny window of time to get out.

@TiarePalau @Jene_Sais_Quoi i heard it was movig toward Kaanapali and that is near my aunt's place... it's unreal... The church in dowtown Lahaina was not burned. The Banyan tree survived, too.

Thank you.. my aunt is currently in Tahoe and safe but they've been watching and of course are deeply saddened for everyone.

Yes. The Maria Lanakila Catholic Church, built in 1846, miraculously survived the fires… while all around it scorched earth. The Banyan Tree was burned but still stands… her roots are likely still solid… hopeful symbols for the community.

Good to hear your aunt and family are safe. Ka’anapali was evacuated a hours ago due to approaching fire, but that fire has now been 100% contained.

This is Front Street burning to the ground. A street that’s >150 years old. Many buildings over a century. Home to the oldest most beloved banyan tree in America… and King Kamehameha’s palace. I lived and worked on this street for 6 yrs, managing a surf shop after high school.

Just up the road, above my nephew’s home also burned to the ground, is Lahainaluna High School. The oldest high school west of the Rocky Mountains.

Yup.

I won't use Threads through an app (analysts say it's one of the most privacy-invading they've ever seen... and the fact that Meta won't let you use a browser shows the data theft is the real point of the platform).
