1). You can't tell the caliber from the audio on the TV.
2). He didn't get a rifle into the venue - he was on a roof outside.
3). He still should have been spotted in the prone position, in cammies, on a roof, with a long gun.
Wish they'd mention what firearm was used - it sounded like a smaller caliber - but how the hell did he manage to get it past security checks? The #2A nuts will eat this up!
CBS needs to catch up - they don't have many facts compared to NBC

@duglop Just a cursory glance at local news FB posts I've seen a lot of allusions to violence.
Biden campaign is shutting down all current ads to focus on attempting to unite the country over this - sorry but you & I both know this won't happen now...

I'm guessing the 2 spectators that were shot (1 died and 1 is in critical condition) were to the right of the podium (our left when watching the video) - no one has really mentioned yet where they were but crowd reaction seems to suggest that...
Biden has made a very solemn positive statement condemning the shooting, and stating he's grateful tfg is ok and praying for him & his family...
How much you wanna bet Biden's protection just doubled?!?
that could explain why they originally thought tfg was hit by a flying "projectile" and not actually shot...
Ok I originally thought it came from BEHIND the bleachers the way everyone acted - I just heard them echoing this possibility...

So NBC showed a broader video with better audio including captions: "shooter is down" "are we clear" "clear" and I think they even said let's more... also numerous photos at different points and different angles
