Nurses are the best!! This was a bad earthquake and they ran to the babies not out for their lives.
@duglop I think needing recovery and rest is just as important a health reason to call out of work as any illness.
Absolutely! You nailed it! Self care is vital to one's health and well-being!
@Spagesgallo1 @duglop We've been trained to think we have no value and are slackers if we're not producing.
We've been taught rest is a luxury, and that luxuries are decadence.
We need sleep, rest, happiness, well-being. We should not be made to feel like a slacker for needing the necessities of life.
I couldn't agree with you more! You nailed every point succinctly! For me personally, it took me decades to finally start taking care of myself and taking mental health days as needed! When I was working, I always gave 110% ! Rarely ever took a lunch break. As I got older, I got wiser. I took those mental health days, sometimes 2 in a row. If we don't take care of ourselves, our bosses sure as hell won't. They are only concerned with producing at any expense.
@Spagesgallo1 @duglop Yes, yes, yes!
@duglop pretty good nothing exciting to report. Glad you are doing ok. Don’t let work get you down. Hugs. Glad to hear from you. 🤗 👩🏻🦰
Never, ever feel guilty for taking care of yourself! You have been a stellar employee, with an old school work ethic! You earned taking a day off for yourself. They are lucky to have you! Rest up and recharge!

Part of me feels guilty for calling in for the first time since I've been employed with PCI over 15 months ago, but I'm extremely worn out & stressed out from the last week of having to do a 3 person job alone let alone the way production was putting demands on me that I couldn't meet And then getting upset with me about it... They're lucky I didn't just leave last night like I wanted to... #wornout
Yes I am the thing that goes bump in the night!
PS: I'm a Dem/Lib - deal with it!
I'm a VET - respect that!
