In the U.K., it was traditional to serve street fish and chips in newspaper, but it was also done in the US when the shop wanted to be "authentic". Ironically, I think (iirc) they stopped letting people use newspaper in the isles before the US said not to do it any more.

@duglop I do wish Coso had a feature to autoblock back and also to sort my follows by people who don't follow me. On the last not because I care about mutual but because I want to see who unfollowed after particular comments. If they unfollowed because I won't tolerate antisemitism I don't want to see them either.

And yet I still ended up working at a hospital. But as a medical interpreter and, as it so happened, a counsellor.
I worked in the OR, I attended international conferences, I translated and edited articles for peer-reviewed journals... I loved being in the OR the most. Even when I had to stay there for 14 hours, translating non-stop, ensuring effective communication between the people who could not understand each other without me but tried to save a patient together.
