So I had a little meeting with my boss after tonight and I asked him why I didn't get any extra help tonight when I was shorthanded and had half a plant to keep running by myself and was overwhelmed. His reply was "because you're one of the top performers on ²nd shift warehouse and I needed backup at other spots". So apparently I'm just expected to do what I do regardless of how stressful it gets... I mean I love the job but sometimes it's too much for 1 person, even me...
@Kittiekatt53 I used to question myself if I was a true team player or not because I just wasn't sure. But I will sacrifice going to break late taking a late lunch even not getting my 2nd break to make sure certain things are taken care of and I don't like leaving things for the next shift to take care of and then I see this guy who just doesn't give a shit and he knows we're busy & shorthanded and decides he's not going to come in and there's not a damn thing we can do about it...
If your job contract states you get breaks and meal time. TAKE THEM! You'll never have the CEO come pat your back. Your supervisor/bosses don't care how hard you worked your butt off, didn't eat or take any breaks to get it done. They just care about their asses and the HH's (head honchos) just look at the profit margins and their bank account.
@Kittiekatt53 okay we're talking to totally different scenarios
@Kittiekatt53 You kind of took this a whole different direction
@Kittiekatt53 anyhow I understand where you're coming from and sorry you go through that or went through that but that's not quite the same thing that I'm talking about
@duglop Not me. I used to , till I realized the head honchos don't give a damn about their employees and how much we sacrifice ourselves to 'get the job done" and not leave extra work for the next shift nurse and in case you don't know, 3rd shift nurses DON'T have other nurses/aides/extra housekeeping/med nurse on the floor.
