On November 20, 1972 (approx 51 years ago) a relatively unknown trio from New York called Wicked Lester held a showcase for Epic Records at the bands loft on 23rd Street in Manhattan. Epic Records executive Don Ellis had previously decided to pass on the band’s album (recorded as a 5 piece band) which combined elements of rock, pop, and funk. This new version of the band was more hard rock, and they wore white face makeup.

This unknown New York trio consisted of the following band members:
Guitarist / Vocalist - Paul Stanley
Bassist / Vocalist - Gene Simmons
Drummer / Vocalist - Peter Criss
The following month they would add a lead guitarist, Ace Frehley, and the rest is KISStory.
