I use IRL to mean meat-space, yes. I've been online since '83 and have a 'best friend I've never met' from '99. He did call me once, drunk at midnight. If I go to Atlanta, or he comes to Sonoma, we'll have a long hug.
Real life is my comfy house with my cat. :)

There was an idea that was legitimately floated in the US State Department that POTUS should have to kill a man in person in order to access the nuclear codes so that it never feels like a distant bloodless exercise. But I think that’s ridiculous. Most of the men to be POTUS would have no issue killing someone else.
What we need is that every time congress votes to go to war, the yay button has a 1:100 chance of killing the person who presses it. Every time.
