I first got into audiobooks when I had a job that required me to drive for up to 6 hours a day. With that much windshield time, I quickly grew tired of FM radio and music in general and needed something besides the conservative talk radio programs that dominated the AM airwaves. With audiobooks (at that time on tape and CD), I found myself looking forward to the windshield time.
