@chuck34108 As a former TV & appliance tech, I saw this all the time. Some people were at ease & would go live their lives while I was there. Others would stay in the room with me & ask questions. Others would enter my personal space & watch as I worked. I greatly preferred those who would tell me which restroom I could use, offer water or a snack, & stay out of my way.
@chuck34108 I used to like the customers who would stay within earshot to answer questions but not hover around offering their advice. I didn't like the ones who wanted me to diagnose & tell them what was needed to fix it only because they wanted to DIY it. No, if you want to DIY figure it out for yourself. If you want it fixed, contact a pro. (Many who wanted to find out how to fix it didn't want to pay for the advice, saying "You didn't fix anything.")
@divisionbyzero I stay out of the way, definitely don't offer my advice but I do tend to pace in an other room and occasionally pop my head in to see how it's going (but still not saying anything).
