weird that apparently 80 is the threshold for this, especially when Trump is only 3 years younger than Biden and demonstrably more incoherent. I can't imagine telling a pollster "76 is fine. 80 is too old." ???
yes, let's replace the most accomplished Democratic incumbent in a generation with a candidate even more reviled than Hillary Clinton, that will secure a win against Trump. we literally already considered this matchup 5 years ago and she got so little support that she dropped out before primary voting even started. she never passed double digits in the polls and her only success was helping snipe Warren's campaign at its peak.
There have been unsubstantiated reports that many of those polled are "Democrats" who plan to vote for Trump in November.
(i.e. Republican Trumpers who are saying they're Democrats, to skew the numbers and discourage Biden votes.)
@Heucuva8 I do always wonder about the roughly 5% of "Democrats" in polls who consistently support Republican candidates and conservative platforms. like, are they thinking of 1920s Democrats? or is that the faction that's trying to make #walkaway look like a thing and they've just got more participants now?
OKAY BUT WHO SPECIFICALLY? that's the whole fucking problem, everybody wishes the nominee was someone else but nobody can NAME THAT PERSON or agree on who it should be. we had a whole fucking primary about this 4 years ago, everybody knew it was going to be an issue this year and the majority STILL PICKED BIDEN so if you wanted "a vigorous Democratic leader" - if one even EXISTS - you should have fucking nominated them 4 years ago!
